The months are flying by this year and I am losing track of all the things we have been doing. So thought I would start to do a monthly summary, so here’s our April Round-Up.
Two Birthday Celebrations – One of the most important and exciting part of childhood is birthday time. And this month we had two celebrations within 4 days of each other. Jojo hit double figures and we celebrated with a Disco. It was great fun and was lovely to see her celebrating with her friends. Fast forward a few days and it was Aliza, the baby of the family’s, 6th Birthday. We headed out for a sunny pub lunch. Then we headed to soft play for her party, she was very happy to have the whole place to herself and her friends.
Decorating – If you have been following my Instagram stories you will have seen that I have been decorating. A few months back I decided to rejig the kid’s bedrooms. Faryl 8 was sharing with his sister Aliza, 6 and I decided it was time for him to have his own space. So last month I started decorating the middle girl’s room so Aliza could join them in there. And it has taken pretty much a month to decorate Faryl’s room. As it was lime green (not sure who’s idea that was!) so has taken 5 coats to cover. Now that both rooms are pretty much finished and looking fresh. I am now on the lookout for bed linen for all the kid’s room. It is pretty tricky to find something appealing to all 3 girls aged 13,10 and 6
Roman Baths – Part of Jolie’s birthday treat was to visit The Roman Baths. We have lived near Bath for nearly 7 years but have never visited. She found it very interesting. It was good but pricey and very busy, but it was the school holidays. There are some lovely Instagrammable parts of it and it is a must visit if you are visiting the area.
Easter Tea – The first week of the school holidays was a bit hectic with me juggling work and keeping the kids entertained. They were great and let me get on with stuff when I needed to. I won’t comment on the state of their bedroom, what’s the point in having so many toys if they don’t play with them. On Friday the 3 smallest kids and I headed to Wyevale Garden Centre in Swindon. For Tea with The Easter Bunny, the kids had great fun and were happy to return home with chocolate of course.
Easter Weekend – Wow what can I say apart from SUNSHINE. It is pretty rare to have a glorious sunny bank holiday here in the UK. So we made the most of it and headed to the coast on Easter Sunday. The South Wales coastline has a special place in my heart, especially Porthcawl. The kids and I visited 4 different beaches and spent some quality time together. Which was lovely as it is very rare for all 6 of us to not have other commitments at the weekend. Then on Easter Monday in true Bank Holiday Style we sorted the garden and did some dump runs. Decluttering is good for the soul and my mind instantly felt clearer for the week ahead.
If you have made it this far thank you, I will be making this a monthly thing. Check back at the end of May to see what adventures we have been on.
