Kidz Island – Review

Kidz Island – Review

I have very fond memories of Sunday’s at the Seaside. When I was growing up our family would pack up a picnic and head to Southsea for a day of fun. Whether it was a walk along the prom, a paddle in the sea or a visit to the arcade it was always a memorable day. So a few weeks ago the kids and I replayed history and headed to Southsea for a day out. We were invited to review Kidz Island on South Parade Pier.

Kidz Island

Kidz Island is just as the name suggests and it totally aimed at kids. It is situated at the end of the South Parade Pier over looking The Solent. You can even spot the Isle of Wight on a clear day. You can purchase wristbands for unlimited rides for £7.50 per child. The wristbands can be used throughout the day of your visit, Meaning you can go off for a paddle or walk and then return for more rides. On the Kidz Island there are rides, side games and refreshments stands.

Bumper cars

The tribe loved the rides, the younger kids 6 and 8 couldn’t get enough of whizzing down the Helter Skelter. The older kids loved zooming about on the bumper cars. The caterpillar rollercoaster brought lots of giggles and smiles to the kids faces.

Once all of the rides had been tested out by the kids it was time for us all to have an ice cream. Kidz Island has a huge selection of ice creams, cookies and waflles on offer. It was hard to decide what to have, most of the kids opted for Ice Cream cones dipped in Oreo’s

Southsea

Once we had had a snack it was time for more rides. We spent all morning on the pier and even popped into the arcades for a go on the 2p machines. We had good fun and it was lovely to see the kids enjoying themselves. I would say however the rides are definitely mostly aimed at smaller children, ideal for Faryl 8 and Aliza 6.

Kidz Island is a great value additon to a traditonal family day out at the Seaside.
